Who and where?
Welcome to Erzieherin-English
Sie haben in der Schule irgendwann einmal Englisch gelernt, haben aber Schwierigkeiten, es spontan zu verwenden, wenn Mütter oder Väter vor Ihnen stehen, die aus einem englischsprachigen Land kommen oder zumindest besser Englisch als Deutsch sprechen.
Englisch als Brückensprache kann Ihnen als pädagogische Fachkraft helfen, einen besseren und für die Betreuung von Kindern wichtigen Kontakt zu fremdsprachigen Familien zu bekommen. Sie werden Sprechsituationen rund um das Kind, das Leben in der Familie und in der Kindertageseinrichtungen üben. Zum Beispiel: wie Sie mit den Eltern über die Entwicklung des Kindes und sein Verhalten zu Hause und in der Einrichtung sprechen können, wie Sie die besonderen Aktivitäten im Kindergarten und im Hort beschreiben können. 
English courses for child care professionals: Communication with Parents
This English course is for child care professionals - teachers in nursery schools, kindergarten and after-school programs. (Grundkenntnisse von Englisch sind erforderlich.)
In this course you will learn to talk with parents who speak English. You will be able to talk about your facility, your program, and the development of their child. The course lasts 5 days (Bildungsurlaub) or a 3-day basic course, and then a 2-day follow-up course. Hours of the course are 9.00 -16.00. The course is coordinated by the VHS in Frankfurt. Monthly English meeting for ErzieherInnen
This meeting takes place one time per month, on Thursday evening from 18.30 to 20.00. It is open to anyone who has taken one of the basic English courses.
We talk about child care and news about children in our society. Each evening costs Euro 15,00 (Euro 20,00 if there are less than 5 participants).

Who teaches the course?
The teacher is Yvonne Ford, an American who has lived in Germany for many years. Yvonne Ford was a teacher in schools in the USA and has been a teacher of English for many years. She is the mother of four adult children who were in German kindergartens and public school.
